  • Grade Rugby, League, Aussie Rules, Soccer/Football players
  • Netball players in all types of competitions and age groups

  • Crossfit extraordinaire
Common injuries include:

  • Overuse injuries eg Achilles tendinitis
  • Muscle strains eg hammy tear, calf strain
  • Joint injuries including ankle sprain, knee injury, hip problems, shoulder pops, neck and back niggles
  • Biomechanical issues eg runners knee

Case Study

M was referred to Physiotherapy from his neurosurgeon for rehabilitation after a fall from a bicycle while down hill mountain- biking left him with 6 fractured vertebrae.  He presented to Maximize to get him back to health for work and sport.

M began with physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, which were largely exercise based and advice driven to begin with. He then began pilates and independent hydrotherapy from programmes developed from Maximize. He has accessed many of the products we supply and advise on to progress his rehabilitation and allow self-management. He has returned to work at full duties, kicked off a new branch to his company (installing steering solutions for disabled drivers) and progressed his health and wellbeing.

M regained his fitness and conditioning throughout his rehabilitation process with Maximize. He gained enough confidence to pursue his next” warrior” quest. He has already been successful in outrigger canoe racing placing second at the Queensland championships, within 2 years of a mobility threatening injury. M has no pain or dysfunction from his injured areas and is able to train as hard as he likes for his next passion of outrigger canoe racing. 

 

When to talk to us

Talk to us when you are starting up your warrior campaign, or even when you are planning out your season, to receive injury prevention advice, training tips and programming. Talk to us whenever the “niggles” begin to limit your training or enjoyment of participating and talk to us to prevent further injury and time off. Talk to us when you have that massive stack or sizeable injury that will take you out of your sport for a time frame that you just have to beat.
